I know that I have said yes to all of the above at different times in my life
and signing up for a group supported raw food cleanse always got me back on track!
I was highly addicted to anything and everything with sugar and refined flour for decades. I couldn't go a meal without having white sugar and white flour in my meal. I was hooked on foods like processed cereals, cookies, muffins, desserts, white bread, pizza, candies, chocolate bars, and so much more.
Every day was a battle with food. I kept going on one diet after the other. I kept bingeing every time I was getting close to sarting a new diet. Then I would beat myself up and promise myself I would start next week. Eventually I would force myself to go on an extreme diet of some sort that was boring and unappealing so it was not sustainable. After the diet I would go back to my old patterns.
It wasn't until I discovered the power, diversity, vibrancy and flavours of foods in their natural, raw, state and recipes to make them fun and enjoyable did I finally start to break my habits. I first went on a 30 day raw food detox and that was life changeing for me. I kept doing shorter cleanses and each time I would do a cleanse, another lifelong habit would disappear on it's own and new habits started to get ingrained with ease.
Today, I am free of addictions to refined sugar and processed carbs. I have no interest in those 'foods'. I crave healthy foods with vibrancy. I enjoy desserts occasionally just for fun, and they are so nourishing I can eat them for breakfast. But I can easily pass even on these healthy desserts.
I also discovered that a lifelong issue with depression was in part caused by my addiction to white flour. I was only able to discover this by eliminating in completely during a 7 day raw food detox and then having a large plate of pasta right after and I became instantly depressed and lethargic. I never would have known the impact of white flour had I not done the detox and then tried it out while my system was so clean.
I also did some inner work to look at why I had such a strong need for 'comfort foods'. I understood I was feeding my emotions and I learned ways that I could heal these emotions and give myself love in other ways.
In a way it seems like a miracle. But when I look back at how I did it, it all makes sense and I love to share this process with as many people as I can.

You choose your own level for the cleanse:
LEVEL 1: Raw Curious – Just dipping my toes in.
Bare minimum is to start the day with a green smoothie every day and elimiate sugar by making healthy desserts. If you do this and find recipes you love, and they become a daily habit, this will be well worth the investment in this cleanse. Greens have so many vitamins, nutrients, minerals and chlorophyll (liquid sunshine) that your body will love you for drinking your green smoothies! And add to that the desserts that are so healthy you can eat them for breakfast! These 2 options are key to kicking the sugar habit.
